Why is bingo not considered gambling?

Just had this random thought. Inquiring minds would like to know.

That's an excellent question. Thanks for asking. The views may vary on where you are living and how your government regulates gambling.

Bingo has a strong social aspect attached to it, and it is a game that is mainly associated with groups who want to raise funds for charitable institutions or causes. Also, the amount of money you bet is fixed, and the stakes are not necessarily high in bingo.

It is similar to a national lottery, and just like any form of entertainment, as long you don't spend too much time and money on it, there's nothing wrong with playing bingo for fun and just socialising with other people.
