Mobile Gamers Making More and More In-App Purchases

- February 24, 2016

A lot of people prefer free online casino games, but once they get hooked, they will definitely turn to online casinos with real money. And once you start playing with real money and winning, it's hard to go back.

According to the study generated by analytics firm Soomla, when these mobile gamers make in-app purchase of virtual goods, they are six times more likely to go back and make another purchase. The research entitled “Mobile Gaming Insights Report Q1 2016” also mentioned that when players go to one game and make a purchase, they are six times more likely to buy virtual goods from another game. You can’t blame them for doing so, especially once you hear about 2015’s biggest online casino jackpots.

Over the course of 2015, Soomla tracked 20 million users and separated the findings into different game categories. Even though online casino gaming didn’t make the cut, there are still valuable insights into the industry in terms of identifying how we're choosing to play.

Once We're In, We're Hooked!

According to the study by Soomla, after purchasing virtual goods in one game, 13% of these users went to a second game and made another purchase afterwards. Meanwhile, the number of players who made a second purchase rose to 18% for those who made their first purchase within 24 hours of playing a new game. Moreover, 24% of the users who played the second game within 30 days of their purchase in the first game bought virtual goods in a second game.

As players discover online casino bonuses and give more games a try, the numbers continue to go upwards. Over 22% of players who bought virtual goods from two games, went to a third game and made a purchase. 28.9% of the players went to a fourth game and purchased virtual goods.

The higher the value of these users’ purchases, the more willing they are to play in other games. Soomla’s research revealed that 40% of the players who paid $25 and above in their first game, went on to play other games and make in-app purchases.

Mobile Casino Gaming Around the World

It is undeniable that the online casino gaming market is big. Moreover, mobile users make up 40% of this year’s global market share. By 2018, it is predicted that around about 165 million people will use their smartphones to visit mobile casinos, place sports bets or buy their lottery tickets. With the number of casino sites with no deposit bonus growing, more and more people are turning to mobile casino gaming.

That is also the reason why a number of casino gaming operators have introduced charge-to-mobile billing for their customers’ cash transactions. A convenient alternative to credit card and electronic wallet transactions, customers can make mobile casino deposits and have the option of placing the charge on their phone bill. On the other hand, pay-as-you-go phone users simply have to ensure that they have enough credit to make mobile casino purchases and deposits.

Want to bring your casino gaming experience to the next level? Try combining the best casino bonuses with your in-app purchases and have a more interesting and exciting time playing online casino games.
