The EGR Operator Awards 2016 is fast approaching and everyone in the eGaming industry is anticipating the names that will make it to the Winners List! On its 12th year, the awarding ceremony will be bigger and better than ever. More than 700 industry professionals coming from the leading online gaming firms around the world will gather on Monday 28 November at The Artillery Garden at the HAC in London. They will celebrate the leading names in the eGaming industry for their success and excellence in operations and commerce.

EGR Operator Awards 2016 Shortlisted Candidates

This year, there are nine categories for the EGR Operator Awards. Those shortlisted were given the opportunity to send a representative for every category they’ve been nominated in. Last Tuesday 25 October, these shortlisted companies were given five minutes to present to the judging panel and another five minutes to answer questions.

The headline categories are:

• Bingo operator
• Casino operator
• Mobile operator
• Operator of the year
• Poker operator
• Rising star
• Socially responsible operator
• Sports betting operator

Judging Process for the 2016 EGR Operator Awards Winners

All companies who submitted entries went through rigorous and thorough judging processes to ensure that all of their qualities will be fully considered and the deserving winners will be chosen. The judges were required to sign a disclaimer form, binding them to keep all information about the companies and that they keep the final winners confidential.

During the judging process for the shortlisted candidates and final winners, the judges reviewed all entries based on the criteria which include growth and commercial success; operational excellence; innovation and differentiation and strength of brand and marketing, among many others. The judges took part in a conference call where they decided on the shortlisted candidates and the final winners.

Game of the Year 2016

This year, operators attending the EGR Operator Awards will be able to vote for the most outstanding online casino game of the year. The winner of this award will not solely be determined based on the revenue it generated. Qualities like marketing value, innovation, product quality games and their ability to stand out in the crowded market will be put into consideration. Any game supplier from an in-house team, independent studio or major supplier were free to submit their entries. The shortlisted games include:

This year, we see some of the big names that have been shortlisted for the past years. These include popular operators like 888, Mecca Bingo, Tombola and Unibet, among many others. What we’re eager to learn is if newcomers like Stride Gaming make it to the 2016 EGR Operator Awards Winners List. Well, we’d have to wait until 8 November to find out!
